Getting started
A few minutes from download to the first connection. Nothing to set up.

Download and install
Download HidForge for Windows and run the file. In the setup window click Install. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” (unknown publisher), check the file first: it was downloaded from hidforge.com itself and its SHA-256 matches the one on the Download page. Only then click More info → Run anyway. If it differs or the file came from elsewhere, do not run it: delete it and contact support.

Sign in to your account
In the HidForge window sign in or sign up — the computer gets a permanent ID. Without an account — the “Try without signing up” button: 5 minutes of connection, then a 30-minute break.

Connect from another PC or your phone
On the other device open HidForge or the site, Connect section, enter the ID and choose view or control. How to put HidForge on your phone — on the Download page.

Allow the connection
The computer shows a Connection request: Allow viewing, Allow control or Decline. Your own and trusted PCs can be allowed to connect without asking.

For games — improved control
Settings → Games → Improved control for games: games take the mouse and keyboard as from a real device. If the program asks, click Give Windows permission — once, at this computer.
If something goes wrong
Cannot connect
Connections work from any network. Check that HidForge runs on that computer and shows Available for connections.
The game ignores clicks or keys
Turn on Improved control for games. If the game runs as administrator, click Give Windows permission on that computer.
No request appears
The cross hides HidForge in the tray by the clock — it keeps working. If it was closed, start it again; to start it by itself, turn on Start HidForge when I sign in to Windows.
How to update
Nothing to do: HidForge installs updates by itself while nobody is connected to the computer.
How to uninstall
Windows Settings → Apps → HidForge → Uninstall.
Some games with their own anti-cheat may not accept input from virtual devices — check your game in demo mode first.
